What's here
Great things are happening here
There's so much potential in Horowhenua. Take a look at what we've go going on here.

Ōtaki to North Levin Expressway
In June 2025 NZTA confirmed that the section of SH1 extending the expressway North of Wellington will be completed.
Ō2NL will stretch from the end of the current expressway, just North of Ōtaki, to North of Levin – bypassing the town while creating huge potential in Horowhenua.
We expect inward investment to capitalise on the improved connections, the increased population, and changing face of Levin township.
New Health Hub
A new integrated health facility is being built by Horowhenua Developments (HDL) to deliver a range of services in a purpose-built modern facility.
In 2021 HDL recognised the desperate need for improved access to healthcare services in Horowhenua. They checked in with a series of community healthcare sector providers, visited a range of sites in and around the Lower North Island, Auckland, and Christchurch, and then worked with experts to develop a concept that works for our community, our place, our people.
This Hub will provide greater access to primary healthcare for Horowhenua residents. Their vision is to provide a fit-for-purpose facility, combined with greater professional practice opportunities, by aligning with forward-thinking specialist services in Horowhenua.
On 18th October 2024, they held a groundbreaking and blessing ceremony and construction is close to completion. HDL are proud to be partnering on this project with local business Homestead Construction Ltd, and expect to be open in late 2025.
The Health Hub will have a GP surgery, a radiology suite, and a pharmacy – but there's still room for one more service.
Enterprise Drive
The Enterprise Drive Development represents an active economic development initiative that is transforming a long-vacant 13.8 acre parcel of industrial land into a thriving industrial hub. The project showcases the power of collaboration in driving regional growth and understand the potential in Horowhenua.
HDL is set apart from other developers by prioritising collaboration, partnerships, and the overall economic development of the region. HDL's approach also encouraged locals to expand and enhance their own facilities, solidifying the Enterprise Drive Development as the go-to destination for industrial development. By creating an environment that attracted other developers and businesses, HDL contributed to the expansion and growth of the local community.
“The project was driven by a vision to catalyse growth and attract significant business investments to the district. The land was purposefully subdivided into large sections to attract businesses that could provide substantial economic benefits and job opportunities to the community”. Melissa Hanson - HDL Property Developer Manager
"We were purposeful about who we sold to, aiming for end uses that would bring the best economic and community benefits", said Melissa. This approach has resulted in a growing industrial area that supports local employment and economic activity, reinforcing Levin's reputation as a prime location for industrial development.
